An Invitation Upon Retirement

free counters
Hello my good people, wherever you are.
That old bastard Cormac is scarpering far.
Like a fox he is leaping right out of his lair
and heading for freedom, shouting: "come if you dare!"
down to the Rushcutter where the swans gently swim
and crowd round the bar where we'll make a wild din.
There with hand in his pocket and full of good cheer,
he will buy you a Guinness, Schnapps cocktail or beer.
And tell you it's heaven to be warm here within;
a fine recompense for a lifetime of sin.
And he'll offer a few words of thanks to you all
for shared times in the trenches, where the crapnel did fall.
And we'll toast our great leaders - with their backs to the wall.
And from under their "vision" to freedom we'll crawl.
So leave your "compooters" and stats on the wall.
And allow me to thank you. I love you all.
